I began with an idea and a set of sketches. I had no idea what I was doing. I needed help. I found Russ Weinzimmer on the internet and gave him a call. He was in New Hampshire, I was in California. I called Russ with about five weeks remaining on my provisional patent, and it was due of course at the end of that year, so he had very little time to completely redo and enhance my provisional patent. My first invention was for the automobile industry. I used a television patent submission company, and they gave me a design patent that was useless. That patent is now nice wall art and nothing more, because it gave me no protection.

My second invention was a protective flip lid for the stainless steel tumbler market.
